This unique, interactive 2 hour train ride departs from Hobo Railroad in Lincoln and Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway and takes you on a memorable and winding journey to the North Pole Theatre.

While children are nestled in their pajamas with hot chocolate and cookies in hand, they are transported to a land or magic and mystery filled with the spirit of Christmas. Upon arrival to the North Pole children are welcomed by cheerful elves leading Christmas carols. As the classic story of the Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg is read, images of the story are shown on screen for all to see. After the story book is closed, the guest of honor arrives to greet the children and share a special gift.

This holiday adventure makes a believer of those young and old and reminds us that giving is the best gift of all. The proceeds of the event go to benefit The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation to help promote reading and literature.

The Polar Express event is one of the most popular excursions in the Mount Washington Valley and an experience like none other. We invite you and your family to join us on a magical journey to the North Pole.

Washington Auto Road, the 21st Annual POW/MIA Freedom Ride, a burrito eating contest, the 4th annual “Jesus Ride”, the “Love of Pets” Ride to benefit the NH Humane Society, and the biker build-off awards.
